A highlight video of Techies played by Miracle created by Dota 2 Highlights TV.
Starting Items: Orb of Venom on Techies is an interesting choice because Techies has a great long-range attack for harassing, but he has extremely low damage. The Orb makes his passive harass stronger.
Draft: Techies is a strong hero in offensive dual lanes simply because his Blast Off! deals a lot of damage. Having a lane partner with control (such as ES) is very valuable because all of Techies’ skills have a delay and stuns make hitting them much easier.
That being said, this is not an easy Techies game. Usually, you want to play Techies in two ways:
In this game, Dire’s cores are OD and Necro – both heroes are absolutely terrible at pushing, which means they cannot fully capitalize on the good early game that Miracle is having. Moreover, they are not bad in the late game but they could get out-carried by Jugg + Sniper. Last but not least, Sniper is one of the best heroes to push against Techies simply because with true sight he can kill all mines from a long range.
Early & Mid Game: A big mistake to do with Techies early on is to play passively and to simply plant mines, hoping people will randomly walk on top of them and die. Miracle is doing the exact opposite: with Blast Off! and his mines around the lane he can pressure constantly the enemy carry and with the help of Shaker’s control they get a lot of kills. Later on, he even starts solo-killing people (e.g. at min 02:00 of the video; he uses Blast-off! first to silence the Jugg and disable him from spinning).
Cool Play: On min 02:59 it is quite obvious that the AA has a Sentry and wants to kill the mines. Techies uses this moment to Force him into the mines and kill him.
