bOne is in a very favorable lane matchup. Thanks to his passive, MK is one of the best heroes at trading harass. His lane opponents are two melee heroes – ES and Cent. This means it’s impossible for them to kite him, and he exploits this fully. Jingu mastery is a terrifying skill not only because of the damage it deals: the lifesteal combined with Boundless Strike means Monkey can get the better end of the trade even without much HP consumables. A Boundless Strike on the creep wave (+ hero) while Jingu is active pretty much fully heals MK, while the Cent + ES need to burn consumables to stay at high HP.
Simply by constantly trading hits with them, he creates kill opportunities. Once his passive is up, escaping him is very difficult because of the slow from Orb of Venom + Primal Spring later on in the lane, which allows him to get multiple kills.
There are generally speaking two ways to play MK:
Notice that he is playing against a TB + Invoker. It’s unlikely that he will win a passive game where the two teams trade farm. Because of this, he goes for an active skill and item build and plays aggressively – the main reason he manages to get such an impressive KDA this game.
The game plan is to win the lane decisively, snowball out of it and take away all possible map control from the enemy team by rotating and forcing fights.
Notice
that he gets plenty of cheap stat items early on: Stout, Quelling, Orb, Wand, Phase,
Aquila, Echo Sabre (he buys the Ogre Club first when building it).
While this is not the most efficient build in terms of inventory management and he needs to sell off these items when he gets better ones, all of them give him a slight edge in the early game and allow him to play very aggressively without paying with his life.
In the mid & late game, he invests in items which help him hunt heroes and take team fights: Shadow Blade, Maelstrom, Silver Edge, BKB, Mjollnir, Basher
Notice how he uses his huge mobility with Shadow Blade and Tree Dance/Spring to hunt heroes down. Once team fights begin, he already has his BKB and is ready to take them. Pushing HG with Dire’s lineup is not easy, but thanks to his effective fighting all-game-long bOne has secured a big resource lead for his team that they can use to break the enemy base.
